Nieuw-Vennep, 27 April 2007 - Global Pieter Smit, specialists in motor-sport, entertainment and project logistics, announces that it has been contracted as "Official Forwarder" for the Champ Car Europe rounds.

Initiator and official promoter of Champ Car in Europe is Mr. Bart Rietbergen, a well known organiser of classic and other special race and rally events.

Champ Car, a shortened form of "Championship Car," has been the name for a class of cars used in American Championship Car Racing for many decades. A Champ Car is a single seater (commonly called open wheel) racing car. For much of their history Champ Cars have been similar to Formula One cars, although there have traditionally been several key differences between the two. * Champ Cars have always raced on high speed oval tracks.

The first season of Champ Car in Europe will cover two events. The Belgium race, circuit Zolder on August 26th and the Dutch event held at the well know TT-Circuit Assen.

The transportation contract between Global Pieter Smit and Champ Car Europe includes the full tour transportation, handling of incoming and returning charter flights as well the on site track logistics.

Global Pieter Smit as part of the Pieter Smit Group, are specialists in transporting high value special cargo and offer worldwide support and logistical coverage. In the last few years, this international forwarding company has expanded into the growing market for car, motorcycle and race logistics as well as into the road, air and sea transport of vehicles for events and exhibitions.
